Pronoun Colours

As an artist, I like colours. As a perfectionist, I like sorting things into little categories. As a nonbinary trans person, I like pronouns! So, why not combine all three?
This is a list of all the pronouns that I could think of, in the colours I associate with them, and why.

Traditional Pronouns

he, him, his, his, himself

Blue is the colour associated with men, boys, and masculinity in western culture.

she, her, her, hers, herself

Pink is the colour associated with women, girls, and femininity in western culture.

they, them, their, theirs, themself

A mix of red/pink and blue.

it, it, its, its, itself

"It" is usually used to refer to nonhumans. Very "default."

General Neopronouns

[ae, aer, aer, aers, aerself]

Sounds like "air."

ce, cir, cir, cirs, cirself

Like Circe, goddess of magic.

co, co, cos, cos, coself

Another "default" pronoun.

e/ey, em, eir, eirs, emself

Green... I don't know, I couldn't tell ya.

hu, hume, hume, humes, humeself

Human pronouns!

ne, nem, nir, nirs, nemself

These ones have a sort of ocean feel to me, for some reason. I think of blue-green scales when I think about them.

pe, per, per, pers, perself

More human pronouns!

thon, thon, thons, thons, thonself

Thon... tuna. Fish.

xe, xem, xir, xirs, xemself

The first nonbinary pronoun I ever learned! These ones have a really "neither" feeling to me.

ze, hir, hir, hirs, hirself

Enby with a hint of fem.
